Roanchar Ranch Draft Horse Rescue

Founded in 2013, Roanchar Ranch Draft Horse Rescue was established to provide customized care to abused and neglected draft horses and a second chance at life through adoption. The organization began after its founders recognized a growing need for specialized care for draft breeds—horses that are often overlooked in the rescue community due to their size, unique medical requirements, and the costs associated with their upkeep.

Over the years, the organization has built strong partnerships with veterinarians, farriers, other rescues, and community volunteers to ensure each horse receives individualized medical treatment, proper nutrition, and compassionate handling.

Outreach into rural communities, especially those with Amish and farming populations, has become a critical part of Roanchar Ranch Draft Horse Rescue’s work, offering an alternative to auctions and slaughter pipelines.
