ELRECS pools community donations and turns them into steady support for small, under-resourced animal welfare organizations across New York, North Carolina, and Connecticut.
Why we exist
Small organizations are often closest to the animals that need help most, and the ones with the least support behind them. Funding arrives in unpredictable bursts, the administrative work never stops, and the people doing it are usually doing it on top of full lives and other jobs.
ELRECS exists to take some of that weight off. We pool community donations and turn them into steady backing: funding, partnerships, and the operational support that small organizations rarely have the time or budget to build for themselves. The work on the ground stays where it belongs, with the people who know their animals and their communities. The backing is what we scale.
What we believe
More of every dollar should reach the animals. Small does not have to mean fragile. And the organizations doing the hard, unglamorous, day-in day-out work deserve a funding partner as committed as they are.
We also believe the strength is in the network. A gift to ELRECS is not split into pieces too small to matter. It is pooled and put to work across every member organization, so one donation reaches the whole network.
How we work
Donations come in through one place and are pooled into a single fund. From there, ELRECS puts that money and effort to work as three kinds of support: direct funding, partnerships that open doors a small team could not open alone, and hands-on operational help with the things that quietly drain a small organization, from grant writing to systems to strategy.
The network currently spans 21 member organizations across New York, North Carolina, and Connecticut: rescue groups, wildlife rehabilitators, equine and farm sanctuaries, and raptor care among them. Different missions, the same need for steady backing.
