Twenty-one small organizations do the around-the-clock work of animal welfare, most of them volunteer-run, many with no paid staff at all. ELRECS pools community donations and puts that backing behind every one of them. One gift reaches the whole network.

Running for Rescues
The members
The work never stops.
Neither do they.
They look different from the outside. One is a wildlife center that treated 651 injured animals last year. One is a Connecticut rescue that has pulled more than 150 horses from slaughter since 2010. Others are a single rehabber raising orphaned owls, a foster network moving dogs out of overcrowded shelters, a sanctuary where senior donkeys live out their years. What they share is how they run: small, local, funded by donations, kept going by volunteers who do the unglamorous work no one else will. ELRECS exists so they don’t have to do it alone.
